We go looking for antiques and art, then find ourselves considering a whisky sign, a Vespa or a tea set that would make the journey home considerably more complicated. The attraction is the range of objects, from small collectibles to furniture with enough presence to rearrange a room around it.
Choosing the right market matters. Chatuchak combines vintage browsing with a much wider weekend market, Srinagarindra has an evening format, and ChangChui puts art and design at the center. The Camp and Khlong Thom need a little more explanation before either name goes into a taxi app.

The Camp Vintage Flea Market near Chatuchak is listed as permanently closed. It was a different place from ChangChui Creative Park, despite the aircraft imagery associated with both. Do not travel to the old Camp address expecting the market described here to be trading.
Our visit was on a Wednesday, with no market vendors trading. We still enjoyed coffee at Pompano and looked at objects through the shop windows. The quiet made it easy to linger over the displays, although it gave us no basis for judging the full market at its busiest.
The plane, the horse figure and the mother-of-pearl tea set were among the details that held our attention. That combination explains why we like vintage spaces: a useful object, an impractical ornament and a piece of transport history can all find themselves in the same afternoon. For vintage shopping in the evening, look for Srinagarindra Train Night Market, also called Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin. The location behind Seacon Square is the one discussed here. Use the full name when planning your route, because “Train Market” is not a precise enough destination on its own.

Khlong Thom needs to be approached as an area with a market history, not as a guaranteed version of the old Saturday-night flea market. Its name has long been associated with secondhand goods, tools, electrical items and spare parts around Bangkok’s Chinatown.
The large street-market format was targeted for removal in 2015. The Nation’s contemporary report describes the closure order affecting vendors across several streets. That is different from visiting an individual shop or shopping center in the neighborhood today.
For antiques, we would prioritize Chatuchak or Srinagarindra unless you have a particular Khlong Thom dealer in mind. Check that business’s current address, stock and opening hours before making a dedicated journey. A familiar district name tells you very little about which doors will be open.
